dmg world media has recently exited the New Zealand market. The business has been sold as two separate entities.

The trade portfolio of eight shows: Autumn Gift, Winter Gift, Spring Gift, EMEX, Foodtech Packtech, Hospitality NZ, Build NZ/Designex NZ and Printech has been sold to XPO Exhibitions Limited.

The consumer show portfolio including Canterbury Home Show, Auckland Home Show, Autumn Home Show and Big Boys Toys has been sold to Exhibitions and Events New Zealand Limited (NB: there will be no Big Boys Toys nor Autumn Home Show in 2010).

The majority of New Zealand-based dmg staff have been retained by one or other of the companies, with both operations continuing to operate out of the existing Auckland premises.

dmg world media is an international trade show producer with principal operations across North America, Europe and Asia. dmg world media is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Daily Mail and General Trust plc (DMGT www.dmgt.co.uk). The sale of the Australia and New Zealand show business follows a new strategic focus on emerging markets and the technology sector. dmg world media will retain its technology and digital marketing business in Australia, which includes the ad:tech, iMedia and Evanta brands.
